
At the meeting of East Dunbartonshire Council on the 14th February 2025, Councillor Alix Mathieson, who represents the Milngavie Ward, was appointed as the Convenor of the newly created Transformation, Economy and Employment scrutiny Panel as well as Vice Convenor of the Transformation Community Wellbeing Panel.
Councillor Mathieson said; "I am delighted to have been voted in by my fellow members to chair a senior scrutiny panel. East Dunbartonshire Council desperately needs change, and I am pleased that I will have the ability while in opposition to continue to hold the administration to account. Along with sitting on these scrutiny panels I have joined the East Dunbartonshire Violence Against Women Multiagency Partnership. I am passionate about ensuring the safety and rights of women and girls along with my colleagues in the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party in the Scottish Parliament and I will continue to make sure our voices are heard and our rights are protected."
Along with these new appointments Councillor Mathieson continues to sit on Education Committee, Place, Neighbourhood and Corporate Assets Committee, Civic Government Appeals Board, Placing Request Appeals Committee and Health and Social Care Forum,. She also represents the Council in the following external organisations, East Dunbartonshire Access Forum, East Dunbartonshire Adoption and Fostering Panel, East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust, Mugdock Park Management Committee, Parent Council Forum and Trustees to the Council's Trust Accounts.
